- Common's 'Like Water For Chocolate' release date (March 28th) has been 100% confirmed (the same people that informed us of this said that GZA would, and he stuck to his date). Producers include DJ Premier, Jay Dee, The Roots and The Soulquarians (D'Angelo, ?uestlove, James Poyser, and Jay Dee).
- Shyne has been charged with one count of attempted murder in the second
degree, two counts of assault in the first degree, two counts of attempted
assault in the first degree, two counts of assault in the second degree, and
one count each of reckless endangerment in the first degree, criminal use of
a firearm in the first degree, and criminal possession of a weapon in the
second and third degrees. Shyne faces up to 25 years in prison on the second degree attempted murder
and first degree assault charges alone. The rapper's next scheduled court
date is April 3rd.
- Del will be releasing 'Both sides of The
Brain' in March. The Souls of Mischief will release their long awaited third
album entitled 'Trilogy: Conflicts, Climax, Resolution' sometime during the
summer. And Pep Love's debut 'Ascensionwill' also see a summer release.
- Primo will be doing tracks on Jeru's forthcoming LP; 'Armor of Gold: Dirtier Than Ever' and
Canibus' upcoming 'C-Quel'
- Master P has a television pilot called 'Camp P' and he's also is cast in a Nicolas Cage movie
- Jay-Z didn't manage to gain his objected 1,000,000 sales in his first week. Infact, he hasn't gone platinum with this LP, yet. It has managed to make it to #1 on the Billboard charts though.
- DMX was number one the previous week, he managed to shift 698,000 in his debut week and has already achieved platinum status.
- 'WWF Raw' will be released on February 29th, and no, I'm not plugging a wrestling soundtrack for the sake of it, the fact is, this compilation/soundtrack will feature joints from Hip Hop artists.
