Those of you who have an interest in Kurupt/Tha Dogg Pound will know that his latest release comes on 2 CD's, one is entitled the 'West Coast' CD which obviously features West Coast emcees/artists and the other is entitled the 'East Coast' CD which features (by now you should have guessed it) East Coast emcees/artists.

We'll start off this review with what I thought of the 'West Coast' CD. With 12 tracks, 2 said to be bonus tracks you should be able to find at least one joint you like. The disappointing thing though is that there just isn't enough Dogg Pound. I spotted Daz a few times, like on the track 'Make Some Noize' however, Nate Dogg and Snoop don't make any appearances. After a weird intro with Kurupt basically stating "I'm brilliant the rest of these MC's aren't," kicks in 'This One's For U' a track which really doesn't have too much meaning but is kinda nice. A little rn'b chorus and some nice lines make it quite good to listen to. Tracks which stuck out on the 'West Coast' CD included the previously released 'We Can Freak It' which is just a really good, relaxed type of a track. A really dope cut basically ! Tracks on the first CD that really make me feel disappointed are 'Fresh' and 'Put That On Something' which really aren't anything new or that good but still.

Lets take a look at the bonus tracks; 'Another Day' and 'Ask Yourself A Question' featuring Dr. Dre, dope. Both of these cuts are just plain dope, Dre produced the track beautifully and sources have told me that Kurupt's second solo may be entirely produced by Dre because he was so impressed with this cut !

So, in short for the first CD I'd say about a 7/10 pretty good but there IS room for improvement.

The 'East Coast' CD. We get 11 cuts on this (1 bonus), the first track 'It's A Set Up' has really smooth beats which fit well with the lyrics however in parts of the album (including this track) you realise he mentions 'Nigga' way too much, so much that it will start to annoy you but the track is really good ! Buckshot and Barshawn (female emcee) make some appearances on the 'East Coast' CD, Buckshot comes off better than Barshawn when he raps on 'Light Shit Up.' Damn, we have Storm (Wu-affiliated) producing 'If You See Me.' The thing about that track is the lyrics don't compare to the beats in, even though it has Short Khop, El Drex, Baby S, Trigga and Kurupt, it just isn't as good as it could have been would it have had better rhymes put in it. All those emcees are capable of really dope rhymes but one thing, Kurupt does come off better than anyone on the cut. Another cut that will probably be noticed is another track produced by Storm 'It's Time' it features Deadly Venoms and is okay, but not that good, not as good production wise as 'If You See Me.' 'I Wanna...' is what you can just state as different ! The beats really are pretty rubbish, but the lyrics, they're rubbish too, pointless. Basically it's going on about people wanting to avoid chatting or any pre-sexual activities, they just wanna get down dirty. The chorus repeatedly has a woman saying "I wanna fuck...." And as for 'Who Do U Be' well I'd better keep quiet on that track.

The bonus track 'We Can Freak It'(remix) featuring Noreaga is pretty dope. Noreaga actually helps the quality which these days is something you don't see too much. But I like this, not as much as the original but I do think this is a nice addition to the double CD.
