Pharcyde fans have been waiting for the group to drop more material for years. There's even a sort of mocking interlude on this EP asking when the new Pharcyde CD is out...Well, they're back, minus Fat Lip but they're still pretty phat.

The EP 'Chapter 1 : Testing The Waters' is annoying in the sense that the tracks are untitled (if you get your hands on this on vinyl, you'll find it unlabelled and on CD it simply says track 1, track 2 and so on) but, who needs to read a title to hear good music ?

There are six tracks on the EP, five songs plus one proper interlude. There are some combined cuts with a sort of intro slapped onto the first track and an outro slapped onto the last, plus some little interludes are shoved slap, bang in the middle of the cuts. The tracks are kind of diverse in terms of content, but they all feel pretty much the same in terms of beats and the way The Pharcyde flow over them. Themes on the EP range from pain to sex and are illustrated well through the groups rhymes.

Anyway, check out the tracks here and seeing as this is pretty limited, if you like it and can get your hands on a copy of the EP, I suggest you do so.
