Surge Cess was born in GeorgeTown, Guyana, in 1987 Surge moved to Toronto, Canada and the man has been living there ever since. He got into hiphop around 1992, Surge liked it cuz because he thought it was different, and it made him feel sort of hyper, then he just branched off into the underground sound because the underground is more orginal and innovative. The reason Sergio Alves is called 'Surge Cess' is because his real name is SERGIO, and the first part of that is prononced SURGE, and since this latino rapper smokes a lot of Cess, they were then put together to form the title 'SURGE CESS.' He has a range of aliases including DJ Noktunal Emission, RLP, The Herbalist. Matters that Surge feels strongly about are abusive parents. He has had experience with that matter and he says that he feels it definately needs to be addressed.
