-------Tales Of Life-------- In the light I exist/ but reside in the mist/ the wicked ones meet verbal fists/ and lost souls I assist/ onto their proper path/ they know I'm droppin' math/ for their benifit and yet/ some still incur my wrath/ by fallin' down again/ into the lions den/ they can't escape their sin/ so they end up where they been/ in the never-ending circle/ of brief joy and lasting pain/ gazing out the windowpane/ tears fall to mirror the rain/ looking back on better days/ before loved ones passed away/ before the sky turned grey/ before you lost your way/ each day, a new regret/ and you deeper in debt/ and I ain't even talkin' money/ I mean your soul you let/ grow dimmer every year/ mind clouded; never clear/ consumed by your fears/ you can't even face your mirror/ to forget for a while/ you seek the quick fix/ arm full of needle pricks/ then added crack into the mix/ now you chemically dependant/ even stole your momma's pendant/ for the cheap high you buy/ come down and wanna end it/ defendant is now your title/ cause your moms reported you/ she hopes this can get through/ what she just couldn't do/ no detox/ the cage just locks/ doubled over on the ground/ from the lack of rocks/ aged cellmate/ said he was the same/ but through his sentance came a remedy for the pain/ every spare moment that he had/ was in the prison library/ it was his only santuary/ until the knowledge was kept and carried/ in his mind/ spoke with wisdom divine/ entered the essence of God/ and left the pain behind/ and he taught this to the youth/ who left after five years/ and the world once hazy grey/ was now seen crystal clear/ went directly to his moms/ and let her know that all's forgiven/ and with the heartache as a hindsight/ he can finally begin living
