Aromatherapy 101

Aromatherapy 101 is our fundamental level course, which will take you on your journey of discovery from the history of Aromatics through the birth of aromatherapy to present day developments.
You will learn the effective and up to date uses of essential oils, their intrinsic qualities, healing potential and safety precautions.
You will learn the various methods of application and proven ways of achieving the desired results for yourself, your family and your friends. If your main goal is to achieve an insight into essential oils, and how to use them in your home and to increase the well-being of your loved ones this course will satisfy your heartfelt needs.

Who has Aromatherapy 101 been designed for ?
Aromatherapy 101 has been designed for all those people who are interested in the risk free, safe and effective use of essential oils.
On completion of the distance learning course, students will be given the opportunity to take a final examination, successful students will receive the Aromatherapy 101 certificate, which will confirm that they have completed the Real Essences of Life 140 hours correspondence course.

Will Aromatherapy 101 lead me to a career in Aromatherapy?
On satisfactory completion of the course, you will be able to use your acquired knowledge of aromatherapy and essential oils effectively for self help, family and friends.
Completion of this course will also give you the tools necessary to work in various aromatherapy retail stores, your own recipes for fun basic care products.
The Aromatherapy 101 correspondence course is a pre-requisite and stepping stone for Aromatherapy 201 and further advanced Professional Aromatherapy recognition.

The course manual contains 21 separate lessons with a comprehensive description of the topics and relevant references.

Aromatherapy 101 Workbook:
This workbook contains step by step explanations of the salient point of each lesson and revision work for each of the 21 lessons which are contained in the course manual.
The main objective of the workbook is to help you to study and be completely at ease with the course content.
The workbook also contains practical exercises which will help your endeavour.

The Introductory Aromatherapy 101 essential oil kit will allow you to become familiar with your essential oils from the beginning of your course and have a personal experience of each essential oil as you begin your studies.

Our kit includes 5ml of each of the following essential oils:
bergamot, clary sage, cypress, eucalyptus globulus, geranium, ginger, grapefruit, juniper berry, true lavender, lemon, mandarin, orange, peppermint, petitgrain, rosemary, tea tree and ylang ylang; 2mls of each of the following essential oils : roman chamomile, rose, rosewood and sandalwood, 50 sweet almond oil and 50ml of apricot kernel oil, 2 empty 10ml amber glass bottles, and one small amber glass jar.

Aromatherapy 201

Aromatherapy 201 is a course that follows the knowledge acquired during Aromatherapy 101. It has been carefully designed to give our students the necessary tools and knowledge required to practice safely and confidently.

The course will give the student the knowledge required to be able to take up confidently the theoretical components of the proficiency examinations of the various International governing bodies of Aromatherapy, be it in the UK, US, Australia and Asia among others.

You will gain a detailed knowledge of essential oils, carrier oils, therapeutics, individual formulations, and much, much more.

Aromatherapy 201 is particularly aimed at those students whose goal is to become a Practising Professional Aromatherapist.

On completion, students will be given the opportunity to take the in house Aromatherapy 201 examination, and upon successful results will be awarded our Aromatherapy 201 certificate which will enable those who so wish to participate in the Aromatherapy 301 live practical classes.

After completing the practical examinations, successful students will be enabled to take the external examinations which are laid down by the International Federation of Aromatherapists.

Prerequisites for this course are to hold the Aromatherapy 101 certificate awarded by Real Essences of Life, and have a certification in Anatomy and Physiology.

Successful students will be awarded the Aromatherapy 201 certificate which will credit them with 250 hours for Aromatherapy studies.

Aromatherapy
Live Intensive Practical Course

The following prerequisites are required to be able to take this course:

  1. Have successfully taken and completed Aromatherapy 101 and 201.
  2. Have successfully completed our Anatomy, Physiology and Physio-pathology course
    *Students who already have a certification in this subject will be exempt from taking this module, but will have to answer the questions which are a part of the final exam and assessments.

  3. Have a certificate which shows that they have completed a certifies massage course. *All students are expected to sit a final examination which incorporates all modules.

Those students who wish to incorporate aromatherapy massage and bodywork in their practice are required to attend the Live Intensive Practical classes in order to be eligible to sit the external examination of the International Federation of Aromatherapists, UK. and other national aromatherapy organisations world-wide.

The intensive practical courses are held in various countries over a period of 10 days, divided into two separate parts of 5 days each. They are held from either Monday to Friday, or, over a long weekend, starting on Thursday and finishing on Monday. With an interval of two months between part one and part two.

Cost: $ 500.00 for each of the two parts, con a total cost of: $1,000.00
The cost of the voluntary external examination is $ 150.00
